Route
Day 1: Bratislava
The pretty city at the border triangle has a lot to offer. Lively wine cellars, eventful history and plenty of culture – Bratislava is full of surprises and is the perfect destination for a short city trip. Modern bridges and futuristic buildings alternate here with classic buildings from the time of the Hungarian kings, surrounded by residential districts shooting up around the city centre. Bratislava is also the only capital city that borders two different countries, namely Austria and Hungary. This geographical location makes the city on the Danube a very special meeting place for different cultures, which show their influences here and make Bratislava a cultural centre.
Day 2: Schlosshof – Niederweiden
You can discover Hof Palace in all its diversity! Stroll through the magnificent flats of the castle with its precious furniture, exquisite textiles and glass chandeliers. Or discover the baroque gardens with their unique flower beds. Not far from Schloss Hof is the Niederweiden hunting lodge, where the topic of food is explained. While Schloss Hof is all about production, ‘from the earth to the plate’ so to speak, at Schloss Niederweiden you can learn about the influence of sensory experience on our food through smell, sound, feel and sight. The adjoining baroque game kitchen with its original furnishings is also well worth a visit. The patisserie at Niederweiden Castle is open during the exhibition season.
