The Gastein Valley offers an impressive mountain world, extraordinary architecture, living tradition and an unspoilt natural paradise. Three wonderful places are waiting to be discovered: idyllic Dorfgastein, modern Bad Hofgastein and urban Bad Gastein.
Day 1: Experience the unmistakable nature on the Schlossalm, the family mountain. Easy circular hiking trails with mystical, wondrous mythical creatures, which have been shaped by nature, invite you on a short alpine hike. At the idyllic spots, you can relax and unwind in peace.
Day 2: The Stubnerkogel is a marvellous panoramic mountain. There are many possibilities here. The Stubnerkogel rock trail is a circular route with a starting and finishing point at the mountain station of the Stubnerkogel cable car. The trail leads through steep, jagged rocky areas to a striking vantage point at the same altitude.
The new ‘Talblick’ viewing platform with a marvellous view to the north over Bad Hofgastein can be visited along a circular trail on the Stubnerkogel. Once you have crossed the suspension bridge, you will find yourself on a circular viewing platform made of steel and wood facing Austria’s highest mountain – the Grossglockner. A special experience is the view through the glass window of the viewing plateau into the deep abyss below you.
